Join YPC and COTA as we kick off this year’s Dump the Pump Series on National Dump the Pump Day, June 21th, encouraging people to ride public transportation. Communities around Columbus are collaborating for this great cause, throwing events and giving great discounts to bus riders. COTA will even be raffling off a Kindle Fire at the Downtown kickoff!
Not only will riding public transit lower your carbon footprint, but it can also save you dough! With high gas prices, everyone is looking for a way to save money. Riding public transit is the quickest way to beat high gas prices. The latest APTA Transit Savings Report shows that a two person household that downsizes to one car can save – on the average – more than $10,000 a year.
The series begins and ends with Connect with Columbus, June 20 – July 19. Below you will find a timeline for the series including the discounts available. Check back regularly for more discounts!
To receive your discount, simply present your bus pass (Day pass, transfer pass or monthly pass). First time bus riders – ask for a transfer pass before you get off the bus to redeem your discounts!
