YPC is proud to partner with the Columbus Chamber of Commerce and other area YP groups to present the 2011 State of the YP. This year’s event will give attendees a great opportunity to network with other professionals and attend break-out sessions focused on career and professional development. Also, the results of the recent “What Makes Columbus ‘Cool’ for the Young & Talented 2011” survey will be announced as part of the evening’s program.

Career and Professional Development Event: 4 – 5:30 p.m. ($30.00 registration fee/$25 for YPC members)

State of the YP Program: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. (attendance is complimentary)
As a complement to this celebratory, evening event, we’ll host a 90-minute career and professional development event from 4 - 5:30 p.m. which will immediately precede the State of the YP program. Designed with input from area YP leaders, this event will be comprised of workshops, facilitated panels, and interactive forums, and address topics of interest to the career and professional development of attendees.
Career and professional development event session topics include: Making the Most of Non-Profit Volunteer Leadership; Why You Didn’t Get That Job: An Insider’s Perspective to Successfully Navigating Today’s Labor Market; Connecting and Building Relationships: A Practical and Innovative Approach to Effective Networking; My Days as a Young Professional: High Level Executives Share Their YP Experiences and Lessons Learned; Moving From Idea to Action: What Does it Really Take to be Entrepreneurial?; Columbus’ Young Leaders: Peer-to-Peer Perspective on Personal and Professional Leadership Development and Defining Success: Getting to Where YOU Want to Go!
