Alicia Jackson 5k

YPC is honored to celebrate the life of Alicia Monet Jackson, a rising star and young professional in central Ohio, who was brutally murdered in her home this past December. Alicia, a graduate of The Ohio State University Masters of City and Regional Planning and Bachelors of Architecture programs, was active in community affairs, including being a new board member for the Eldon & Elsie Ward Family YMCA. She was most recently employed with Community Research Partners.

Alicia leaves to celebrate her life and memory, her son, along with her fiancée Eugene Wilson III, her loving parents, brother and a host of other family and friends. It is always a tragedy of extreme proportion losing someone so young and full of promise. Even more so when it is clear that they have passionately and devotedly invested in the development of self and community.

In her memory AMJ Legacy Project has and will continue to provide a variety of ways to honor Alicia. The web site is under construction, but feel free to visit www.amjlegacy.com for pictures and information on how to get involved going forward.

Team Alicia will be running in the Cap City Half Marathon/Commit to Be Fit 5K on May 7, which would have been her 26th birthday.  The AMJ Legacy Project will also have a table at the event and we'll need volunteers too. We have team members running in all levels of the event.

Registration for the race can be found here:  http://www.columbusdistanceclassic.com/

When registering, please select "Team Alicia" as your team. We will have a team shirt for the race!

If you have any questions, please contact Naitik Vyas at at_large1@ypcolumbus.org.
